PHEW!!! Hope to bump into everyone in this forum again soon. These this don't really stop progress, but they drive you CRAZY.

I do appreciate the fact that Microsoft (and in particular-MSDN) released the RC of Windows 7 as soon as they did (again, I will say this OS is steps better than anything that's been released in a long time), but there stills need to be some meticulous QA done from a developer's and user's standpoint.

Since I switched my main development machine from XP sp3 to Win 7 RC, the 'only' problems that I've been encumbered with by Windows 7 (which I love working with) have been caused by the assignment or un-assignment of security permissions in various parts of the Registry. I will say that I'm not surprised that this situation reared it's ugly head. Like most stated, everything worked, but Wndows 7 just wouldn't know it. Ugumba, I must thank you for your research because that finally solved my not being relegated to a Windows 7 network.

Wireles device driver is reinstalled and network detection is at this time finding my modem, so I select my modem and log in and at that time am I finally connected.ДЎ4 - So I try going to my computer manufacturer's website to download and update the drivers.ДЎ5 - Drivers downloaded, installed and updated, so I restart my computerДЎ6 - When I get back into Win 7, it is back to network and sharing center not detecting my network modem, so it's rinse-repeat step 13 to get my modem to list and to connect.I have been googling for an answer to this situation for over a month. Please log in again'ДЈ - So I hit the Login button and it closes Maxthon 5 and reopens itД¤ - I log in again and rinse-repeat step 2ДҐ - So I click on the 'Later' button, and it loads up my homepage, which is Google's search engineД¦ - Google gives me the message 'navigation to webpage was cancelled', so I refresh and get the same noticeД§ - So I try Facebook, and get the notice 'This site's certificate has been issued for a different website's address'ДЁ - So I try Google Search, Facebook, and Twitter in Palemoon browser and Internet Explorer and get the same or similar resultsД© - I look down at the taskbar to find out why I am having problems that day and it was because network connection was saying 'No connections are available'ДЎ0 - So I check my modem, cables to modem, and even check the main circuit breaker to my house, and all is well in all of the aboveДЎ1 - I turn on my cellphone's wireless hotspot option, but still 'No connections are available'ДЎ2 - I checked Device Manager and found it was my wireless device driver was faultyДЎ3 - So I uninstall it and scan for hardware changes. browsers back to normal and loading proper web page formats.ДЎ1 - So I restart the computer, select Win 7 OSДЎ2 - and once again, it wants to go into CHKDSK againДЎ3 - Not wanting anymore records deleted, I hit escape to load Win 7 OSДЎ4 - Clicked Shut Down button to turn off computer and went to bedДЎ - Turned computer on, and select Win 7 OS, takes me straight to Ultra Defrag's command prompt defrag and defragments like normal, then loads Win 7 like Normal - It's a miracle!Дў - Open Maxthon 5 browser, and get the message 'Your account is abnormal. So I was rolled back by 2 years, 3 months, 6 days, 11 hours, and 50 minutes!Д© - So I go into Date/Time app to get the current time/date.ДЎ0 - Open browser to check if anything changes. The normal page format on any website I visited and couldn't see the content.ДЁ - I look down to notice the date and time was somehow was rolled back to at 11am when the Date/Time was supposed to be at 10:50PM. Internet fine, but when loading up a page, was unable to get Came back a few minutes later to find it went to BSOD.Дў - Restarted, selected win 7 OS and it automatically went to CHKDSK to check disk integrity.ДЈ - It found and deleted many records that had empty data in it, then recopies those records.ДҐ - Restarted again, rinse-repeated 2-3 yet againД¦ - Restarted again, but hit escape to get out of CHKDSK checkД§ - Finally in Win 7 OS. But let's go back intime and see how things got how they presently are:ДЎ - Turned on computer, left momentarily.

I can then get on the internet, but I have to select the modem and enter my password everytime.

Since I have been experiencing this problem, in order to get internet access, I have to go into device manager and uninstall the driver and rescan for updates.
